Life. Odesa
Test sample page: all layout variants of photos and texts are collected here. Each block says which variant it is and which files it is made of.
Introduction — the file en.txt (no number). It is optional and always appears above the flow.
Variant 1 · Text with a subheading
File 10.en.txt. The first line starting with “#” becomes a subheading.
An empty line in the file starts a new paragraph. The story of his childhood in Odesa will go here: family, the yard, first friends, favourite places by the sea.
Another paragraph of test text — to see how a longer text reads on a computer and on a phone.
Variant 2 · Photo with a short caption: 20.jpg + 20.en.txt (same number).
Variant 3 · Plain text without a subheading — file 30.en.txt. It sits between photos 20 and 40 because 30 is between them.
Below is a photo without a caption (40.jpg — there is no 40.en.txt next to it).
Variant 4 · Photo with a long description
Files 50.jpg + 50.en.txt. A caption can be long: with a subheading, several paragraphs and an author.
It can tell where and when the picture was taken, who is in it and why the moment mattered to the family.
Variant 5 · Portrait photo 55.jpg. Number 55 — this is how a photo is inserted between 50 and 60 without renaming anything.
Variant 6 · Text with a divider and an author
File 60.en.txt. Three hyphens on a separate line draw a divider:
And the last line starting with a dash becomes the author’s signature.
Variant 7 · Square PNG photo: 70.png + 70.en.txt. Supported: jpg, jpeg, png, webp.
Variant 8 · Several photos in a row: 80.jpg (panorama), 81.jpg — no captions, 82.jpg — with a caption. Click a photo to open it full screen and browse with the arrows.
Variant 9 · Poem
File 90.en.txt — line breaks
are kept as in the file,
and an empty line
separates the stanzas.
A second test stanza
to show the spacing.
Варіант 10 · Текст лише українською
Файл 100.uk.txt без 100.en.txt. Якщо перекладу ще немає, в англійській версії сайту показується український текст — нічого не зникає.
Variant 11 · Closing text of the section — file 110.en.txt. Numbers can be anything (1, 20, 1001, 899032) — the site sorts them in ascending order. Numbering in steps of 10 makes it easy to insert new items later.
